We believe

that people who handcraft a product become part of that product. In a world where mass production has become a driver of low cost, disposable products, we rely on artisans to make authentic pieces that can last a lifetime.

The Leather

One distinctive feature of our shoes is that they all made from vegetable tanned Vacchetta leathers. We work with some of the oldest and most respected tanneries in Italy to source the best leathers that are tanned in traditional way - using no chemicals or heavy metals. The process is well controlled to sustain a tradition and ensure best quality of each hide.

Vegetable tanning is an artisan tradition that the Tuscan tanneries have handed down from father to son for centuries, mixing antique recipes and state-of-the-art technology. Among the various tanning methods, the vegetable tanning is still nowadays the most traditional, the most recognisable, the only one able to give leather unique characteristics. It is able to join comfort and look, fashion and tradition, uniqueness and versatility of the product.

Transparency

Everyone has the right to know where their products are from.

We work with a wide range of artisans, and feel that they should get the recognition that they deserve for the skill that goes into making such quality products. This in turn further helps support their craft communities as people understand the benefits and value of their work. This doesn’t just mean those that put together the final piece but the individual companies behind each material and process.

We hope this modern, transparent way of thinking directly affects your purchase decisions. This way you are informed of what you are really paying for.
